Phase 1 Review and Paragraph Formatting Facts

In Phase 1 of IS101-3210, I think I did quite well. I tried to complete everything on time so I wouldn’t stress at the last minute, and this adaptation phase really helped me get used to the pace of the class and understand how LabSim works. I realized that planning ahead and organizing my time makes learning much more manageable, and I will definitely continue applying this method in the upcoming phases.

During lesson 4.4.5 Paragraph Formatting Facts, I learned how to format paragraphs effectively in Microsoft Word. This includes options such as alignment, bullets, numbering, indents, line spacing, and more. Understanding these features helped me improve my academic and creative documents, because now I can organize information clearly and professionally.

To prepare for the MO-110 Word certification exam, I plan to review all the chapters again, trying to understand them better. I will use the Skill Labs a lot for practice and focus on the topics I find most challenging. I believe that reviewing step by step and practicing the interactive activities will help me feel more confident and ready for the exam.

Overall, I really enjoy the class and the way we are learning. The methods we use, the activities in LabSim, and the structure of the chapters make learning Word more understandable and enjoyable. I am enjoying being able to apply what I learn in a practical way, and I hope to keep improving in the upcoming phases.

  2. Hey Vania, we actually have the same mindset when it comes to doing things early. I also try to finish assignments in advance because you never know what could happen later. Sometimes work, school, and everything else all pile up at the same time. My thinking is if something crazy happens, like if I got run over by a car, at least the homework is already done. Then I’m not sitting in a hospital bed worrying about missing assignments.

I also noticed you talked about paragraph formatting like alignment, bullets, and spacing. Those things look small but they actually make a big difference in how a document looks. Before this class I mostly just typed and hoped the formatting looked fine. Now I realize those tools make documents much cleaner and easier to read. It definitely changes how I look at writing assignments now.

  3. Hello Vania! I'm glad that you're doing well in the class. Doing assignments ahead really helps manage stress. Paragraph formatting really changed the game for me. I remember trying to manually format my documents in high school and it felt so tedious. Now I know everything is just a click away, I just need to know how to navigate it. Repeating the labs is usually the way to go for me when practicing for the exams.

  4. Hey Vania! I totally agree on the statement of how you should approach this class if you want to succeed. Being ahead makes things so much easier as I've been on both sides of being ahead and behind it's truly no question which one I'd rather prefer. Which also help's the process of learning new material while you aren't stressed about playing catch-up.

  5. Hey Vania, I enjoy the way we are learning too, or at least it makes sense of the pace and during commenting this we are less than a month of finishing this semester, woohoo!

  6. Hi Vania. I like your strategy of planning ahead. This gives students a better idea of all the work that they would like to get done by the end of the week. I have tried to get tasks done without setting myself goals before, but that caused me to take longer than necessary on certain parts for assignments.

  7. Hi Vania, time management is a must in this class, I prepare the same way but reviewing all the material over again. Another student wrote down the areas that they struggled to review that would be a much better use of time I believe. The practicality of this class makes it so interesting because the material can and most likely will be used in everyday life.

  8. Hi, Vania, great that you completed everything on time so that you didn't stress out. In my case, I couldn’t complete or start the assignment on time, which I believe was a mistake for me since I was falling behind. Yes, I am also going to take your method to apply in the upcoming phases.

  12. Hi Vania, I am glad you found your "study style" and that is working for you so far. It is so true that starting early is way better than leaving everything for last minute. Trust me, last-minute stress is not good for anyone. I also agree that learning paragraph formatting helps a lot, not just for assignments but for any type of document. It’s nice to see how much you’re enjoying the class overall.

  14. I like how you call this part of the course as the "adaptation phase". The word itself just scratches something in my brain for some reason. Anyway, it's actually good approach what you did. Adapting to the circumstance and making yourself everyday! Very commendable.

  17. Hello Vania, that strategy is a great way to study for the exam and that's basically what I did to finish strong on MO-110 Word. Going into IS101 was an eye opener because there was so much things I never knew you could do with Microsoft Word. I'm sure you did well on the exam. Hope you have a great and successful journey through school!
